The challenge
Janjua Sports is a sports-goods retailer from Sialkot — the city that manufactures cricket gear for the world — selling genuine, pro-grade equipment across Pakistan. The business ran on marketplace listings and one-to-one WhatsApp conversations, which capped discovery at whatever platform traffic allowed and left the brand with no storefront of its own. Selling sports gear in Pakistan has hard requirements that generic storefront templates do not solve: cash-on-delivery as the default payment method, seven distinct product categories with different browsing behaviour, constant pre-sale questions best answered inside WhatsApp, and a separate wholesale lane for clubs, academies and resellers buying in volume.
The system
We designed and built a full-stack storefront from scratch on Next.js rather than renting a one-size-fits-all theme. The store ships with seven category storefronts — Cricket, Football, Badminton, Gym, Shoes, Teamwear and Accessories — each with its own best-sellers and merchandising. Product pages carry customer ratings, regular and sale pricing, and a per-product “Ask on WhatsApp” deep link that opens a conversation pre-filled with the exact product, so the sales conversation starts where the customer already is. Checkout is built around how Pakistan actually pays: cash-on-delivery, a 7-day return policy and free delivery above Rs 5,000 — surfaced as a trust band throughout the funnel. A dedicated bulk-orders lane routes wholesale enquiries with volume requirements instead of forcing resellers through a retail cart. Every component, page and integration is owned outright. No theme rental, no plugin licences, no platform lock-in — the brand's digital storefront is an asset, not a subscription.
The result
The storefront is live in production and carries the brand's full catalogue: seven categories, best-sellers rated 4.6–4.9 by customers, and a checkout built for COD-first commerce. Janjua Sports reports 15,000+ orders delivered on the strength of direct-from-Sialkot authenticity — “Pro-Grade Gear. Built Different.” The wholesale lane and WhatsApp ordering give the team a second growth channel that marketplace listings never offered. And because the codebase is owned end-to-end, new categories, campaigns and pricing experiments ship as routine deployments — not feature requests to a platform vendor.
